an open letter to myself at 16.

Dear Self,

College is just around the corner and by now, you may have gotten the letter that will alter the next four years of your life.  Or rather, you got the text message.  I know you're thinking that this is impossible, impossible for a consistent honor student excelling in various fields and extracurricular activities to falter like so.  You begin to question yourself and ask where you went wrong never having such a biter taste in your mouth.

 

I wish I could have told you that it's okay.  It's okay to feel failure, sadness, uncertainty, confusion and hate.  It's okay to make a mistake, to be sacred of something you felt so sure of ever since you were little.  It's okay to admit you failed.  Just learn from it and move on.   Listen to no other voice but yours and find your spark.

The four years you will spend in college are some of your best and that experience is worth the mistakes and decisions you chose to make but there will always be that little voice inside your head telling you otherwise.  Life is not black and white, concrete.  We can change it with a simple, well informed decision.  We live by trial and error.  We live by how we want to.  Remember that happiness is something we make.  We can search for it all we want but it will dwell in the place our hearts believe in.

Don't fret, little one.  You're life is only beginning to unfold.

Meet MacDaddy, my shiny, new, and very lovable MacBook.  Okay, technically, I cribbed the picture from apple.com but still, I got me a MacBook!  Sweet.  MacDaddy and me, we already share a special bond.  I'm off to find it an awesome bag.  No luck so far though.

Finally got a chance to cook something other than eggs again. Woohoo! It tasted pretty good if I do say so myself and I am 99% sure I cannot replicate this recipe. Its that special. Pasta with garlic, onions, tomato and bologna with garlic margarine/butter and a bit of ketchup.

Another one of my doodles. Finished this one last Saturday night while in bed at almost midnight when I'm typically at my calmness, and while listening to Radiohead.
